What Apple Pay Means for NCR/Aloha and its Customers

Apple Pay logo NCR sees the announcement of Apple Pay as very powerful and transformative. We believe that Apple Pay, combining Apple’s seamlessly integrated hardware, software, and services, will further enable NCR to create business-transforming innovations for our customers. As the leader in Consumer Transaction Technologies, NCR enables more than 485 million consumer transactions per day across retail, financial, travel, hospitality, and small businesses operating hundreds of thousands of business locations throughout the world. NCR does so with software and SaaS platforms which not only power business locations themselves, but which also put the power of our customers’ brands in the hands of their consumers. As such, no technology supplier is better positioned than NCR to help our Retail and Hospitality customers integrate this new method of payment into their operations. By integrating Apple Pay with both point-of-sale platform offerings and mobile platform offerings, NCR can ensure that our customers and their consumers can more readily benefit from the technology announced today. In doing so, NCR will further expand on the altogether new omni-channel Apple Pay2consumer engagement opportunities we are creating today with our software and SaaS platforms. These advancements will benefit NCR customers in their brick-and-mortar channels using traditional POS deployments, their mobile commerce channels using mobile device apps, and, perhaps most importantly, the intersections between those POS systems and apps. By integrating Apple Pay with SaaS software and platforms that we deliver to our customers throughout the world, NCR believes that traditional, mobile, and omni-channel commerce will become more convenient, secure, and capable for consumers and the businesses that serve them. Apple has stated that Apple Pay will be available in the U.S. as a free update to iOS 8, on release of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Apple Pay works in stores with iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and Apple Watch, and paying for physical goods and services in apps works with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. “With Apple Pay, Apple has transformed mobile payments and will have an impact on the industry like never before. We are thrilled to be working closely with Apple to help Retail and Hospitality customers integrate this new method of payment into their operations, providing an easy, safe and secure way to pay with a single touch,” said Jimmy Fortuna, Vice President of Product Development and Chief Technology Officer, NCR Hospitality.   The post What Apple Pay Means for NCR and its Customers appeared first on NCR Hospitality Blog.
